Boy, 13, killed in electric scooter crash: NYPD
HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A 13-year-old boy driving an electric scooter was killed in a collision with an SUV in Harlem on Thursday night, according to the NYPD. The incident happened around 8:46 p.m. on West 112th Street. Police say the teen and a 14-year-old passenger were riding a Razor MX350 dirt rocket electric scooter heading west on 112th Street. Police say the scooter swerved into the eastbound lane to go around a vehicle making a left turn and collided with an oncoming 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe. The 13-year-old was taken to a local hospital with a head injury and was pronounced dead. The 14-year-old passenger suffered a leg injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe remained on scene. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
