Boxer Anthony Joshua injured in Nigeria car crash with 2 fatalities
British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua was injured in a car accident in Nigeria on Monday that resulted in the deaths of two other individuals. The 36-year-old heavyweight champion was driving on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the southwest region of the African nation when the collision occurred. Joshua sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Initial investigations discovered that the vehicle was exceeding the legal speed limit, lost control while overtaking, and crashed into a parked truck at the roadside. The Federal Road Safety Corps in Nigeria reported that a total of five men, including Joshua, were part of the accident. Nigeria holds significance for Joshua as it is the birthplace of his parents and where he attended boarding school briefly at the age of 11. Just recently, Joshua defeated YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a heavyweight fight in Miami, which was live-streamed on Netflix.
