BOONVILLE: Fatal Accident Highway 128 Near Mountain View Road

MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif., (April 1, 2026) — A fatal accident involving a single vehicle occurred early Wednesday morning in Boonville on Highway 128 near Mountain View Road, resulting in one confirmed fatality. Emergency responders were alerted to the scene at 2:37 a.m., where they found a vehicle upside down after crashing into a house at 13900 Highway 128. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the vehicle was a solo vehicle accident with the driver trapped inside and unresponsive. A passenger in the back was reportedly responsive at the time. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters from CAL FIRE extricated the driver and transported them to Ukiah Valley Medical Center. Tragically, the passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identities of the individuals involved have not been disclosed at this time. The vehicle was towed to a yard in Willits for further investigation. CHP officers are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
