Boat crash on Herrington Lake sends multiple people to hospital, 1 still missing
MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Crews from Mercer and Boyle counties were called Saturday night to a boat crash on Herrington Lake that sent multiple people to the hospital. The Mercer County Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 8 p.m. July 4 to a boat crash on Herrington Lake along Herrington Woods Road. Upon arrival at the scene, rescue crews recovered one victim with traumatic injuries and flew them to UK Hospital. Three other victims were also transported to Danville for treatment. Officials said that one person is still missing, and Boyle County dive teams and boats were called to assist in the search. The Mercer County Fire Department said that rescue crews are continuing to search for the missing victim. A specialized crew from Ohio is en route to assist in the search efforts.
