Authorities identify the victim in fatal crash on I-195 in Westport
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim of a fatal crash on I-195 in Westport on Monday. The crash happened around 3:20 p.m. on the westbound lanes of I-195 and involved three vehicles. Investigators say the crash involved a green BMW that fled the scene, a blue Audi that suffered damage , and a Chevy Silverado that suffered major damage and ended up in the tree line just off the road. Authorities identified the driver as 64-year-old Mario Carreiro of Fairhaven. The crash continues to be investigated.
