Aurora witnesses 19th traffic fatality in deadly crash
A fatal accident occurred early Monday morning on Airport Boulevard, marking the 19th traffic-related death in 2025. A distress call reported a vehicle on fire south of Smith Road, which was later identified as a Jeep Renegade fully ablaze when Aurora Fire Rescue arrived. Tragically, the driver was found deceased with no other occupants in the vehicle. Investigators suggest speed may have played a role as the Jeep Renegade lost control, hit a tree, and came to rest in a parking lot where it caught fire. The driver's identity has not been disclosed by the coroner yet.
