APD investigating fatal motorcycle crash
APD is currently investigating a fatal overnight motorcycle crash. On Tuesday, just before 9 p.m., officers responded to a crash near Zuni Rd. and San Pablo St., S.E. Through investigation, officers discovered that a red 1995 Toyota pickup truck was traveling west on Zuni when it came to a stoplight at San Pablo.According to the driver, he attempted to make a left hand turn onto south San Pablo after the light turned green. A red 2013 BMW motorcycle was traveling east on Zuni and struck the passenger side front quarter panel. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. He was transported to the hospital and later died as a result of his wounds. The motorcycle was believed to have been driving at a high rate of speed. The crash is currently under investigation.
