Anderson man killed in solo car accident; passenger sustains serious injuries
Officials in Madison County, Indiana are currently investigating a crash that took place on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of an Anderson man and serious injuries to a passenger. Madison County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of the accident on E. CR 800 N. Preliminary details suggest that a 1999 Mercury Sable was traveling westbound when it drifted off the road twice, ultimately colliding with a guardrail after hitting a ditch. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Darren Lockhart, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to Community Hospital in Anderson with severe head injuries. The specific cause of the crash is still being actively examined.
