Ambulance carrying critical patient crashes into car at busy Allegheny County intersection

A busy intersection in Allegheny County was blocked to traffic after officials said an ambulance carrying a critical patient was involved in a crash Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that an MRTSA ambulance was carrying a critical patient when it T-boned a vehicle at the intersection of Banksville Road and McMonagle Avenue. The incident was reported just before 3 p.m. and occurred near the Kuhn's Market. Video shared with Action News 4 by View Pittsburgh showed a black SUV with damage to its driver's side. The intersection was also blocked by several police and EMS vehicles as crews worked to clear the scene. (See video in playfinder above)MRTSA sent another ambulance to take the critical patient to the hospital. A woman from the vehicle the ambulance struck was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
