Active Duty Soldier Dies in Palisades Interstate Parkway Accident
A tragedy occurred early Sunday morning, Jan. 11, on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in New Jersey when a servicemember lost his life in a crash while reportedly en route to a military gathering. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway between Exits 3 and 4 in Alpine. Just moments prior, another two-vehicle collision resulted in one person being taken to the hospital. At this time, it is unclear if both incidents are related. The victim, a young individual from Queens believed to be in his early 20s, was driving a newer model Honda sedan. Various law enforcement agencies and rescue teams, such as Palisades Interstate Parkway Police, Alpine Police, Closter Heavy Rescue, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, and others swiftly responded to the scene.
