Accidental death of man on roller coaster at Epic Universe park in Florida
According to a recently released sheriff's report, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala tragically passed away after striking his head multiple times on a seat while on a roller coaster at Universal's newest theme park, Universal Epic Universe in Orlando. His girlfriend shared with investigators that his ride restraint had to be pressed down multiple times before the ride began, and despite her efforts to secure it, Kevin was unable to be held back during the ride. Due to the evidence and park procedures, his death was concluded to be accidental. Kevin's parents, Carlos Ortiz and his attorney, Benjamin Crump, expressed their heartbreak over the incident, stating their trust in the park's employees and safety measures. The family's attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the sheriff's report. Universal Orlando, the theme park where the tragedy occurred, is part of NBCUniversal, but neither company has provided a statement.
