73-year-old woman killed in two-vehicle crash near Gadsden
A 73-year-old Leesburg woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Monday, June 8. Ruth D. Cagle was in the passenger seat of a 2015 Nissan Juke when they hit a 2020 Toyota Highlander head-on, critically injuring her. Cagle was taken to UAB Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and died. The two drivers were injured as well and taken to Riverview Medical Center for treatment. The two cars crashed on U.S. 411 near Anderson Road, about one mile north of Gadsden. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating.
