7-year-old dies in Morgan County UTV crash
MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — A seven-year-old boy has died, and a man was injured after a UTV crashed in Morgan County on Wednesday, June 17. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says a CFMoto UForce 1000 UTV crashed on Blackbird Road north of Birch Road, northwest of Laurie, at around 5:30 p.m. According to the MSHP crash report, the seven-year-old was driving the UTV when it skidded on the gravel and traveled off the left side of the road. The driver overcorrected and returned to the roadway before the UTV skidded again off the left side of the road and overturned, MSHP says. The seven-year-old boy and a male passenger in the UTV were taken by an ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia, where the boy died from his injuries. The male passenger suffered minor injuries. This is the 32nd fatality in MSHP Troop F in 2026.
