66-year-old woman dies following Tuesday’s auto-pedestrian accident in Hurricane

HURRICANE, Utah (ABC4)—A 66-year-old woman has passed away after being struck by a commercial truck in a crosswalk on Tuesday. According to the Hurricane Police Department, at approximately 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of 700 West and State St. in Hurricane, a 66-year-old female was found unconscious. The woman, identified as Tammy Lynn Crouse, was reportedly struck while in a crosswalk by a Dodge Ram 5500 Commercial Truck. Medical personnel implemented life-saving measures and then the woman was transported to a local hospital in “critical condition.” Crouse has since succumbed to her injuries. The investigation remains ongoing, and the Hurricane Police Department is reminding drivers to exercise caution around pedestrians, especially in marked crosswalk areas. "The Hurricane Police Department would also like to remind motorists to slow down, remain alert, and be aware of their surroundings while driving each day," shared the department. "Pedestrian safety remains a priority, and drivers are encouraged to exercise caution, especially in marked crosswalk areas."
