4 dead, including 2 children in early morning Oakdale car crash
(FOX40.COM) — Two adults and two children are dead, while two additional children were hospitalized after a car crash in Oakdale early Sunday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to reports of a solo vehicle crash around 3:05 a.m. on northbound Oakdale-Waterford Highway near Claribel Road. Responding officers arrived to find an SUV with severe damage and on fire, with two children nearby. The investigation determined that the car was occupied by two adults and four children. For an unknown reason, the driver veered off the road and hit a concrete barrier before the vehicle caught on fire. Two children, identified as a 7-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl, were able to get out of the car, CHP said. The girl was airlifted to the hospital while the boy was taken by ambulance. Officers said that the four people in the car, two adults and two children, died. CHP is investigating.
