4 dead in head-on collision on Hwy 77 in Chipley
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - Four people are dead following a traffic crash on Highway 77 in Chipley on Thursday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. near Carter Circle. Troopers reported that a sedan with three occupants was traveling south on State Road 77 in the northbound lane when it struck a pickup truck with one occupant, traveling in the northbound lane. All occupants of both vehicles were pronounced dead on scene. Troopers reported that due to a fire, they are currently unable to confirm the occupants' identities. The road was shut down for several hours but has since reopened. News 13 will provide more information as it becomes available.
