30-year-old dies in hydroplane accident in Camden County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol recently updated the crash report, correcting the age to be a 30-year-old woman. CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A Camden County woman has died after her vehicle hydroplaned during a crash on Monday, May 18. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, a 30-year-old Macks Creek woman died around 8:11 a.m. on eastbound U.S. 54, west of Route AA, on Monday. Law enforcement says the woman was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata when she hydroplaned, began to spin and crossed the center of the highway. Officials report that the woman struck a 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 driven by a man from Roach, Missouri, during the incident. Troopers state the woman's vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene by a Camden County medical examiner. The next of kin has been notified. MSHP says the man in the crash was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. This is the third fatality for May and the 20th fatality for 2026 for Troop F.
