30-year-old dies in Bismarck crash involving commercial truck
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A 30-year-old Bismarck man has died in a crash that took place yesterday in the capital city. According to the Bismarck Police Department, Thursday afternoon at about 2:37 p.m., a flatbed commercial truck driven by a 21-year-old Mandan man was traveling north on Centennial Rd while a Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on Century Ave. The vehicles collided at the intersection, with the truck hitting the front passenger side of the Impala. The driver of the Chevy, a 30-year-old man from Bismarck, was taken to the hospital and pronounced deceased. A child in the back seat had to be extricated from the car and was transported for medical care. The child is expected to recover. The driver of the truck was not hurt. The road was closed to traffic as investigators cleared the scene. It has since been reopened. Bismarck PD is continuing to investigate the crash.
