3 injured after driver crashes vehicle into Warrensville Heights nursing home

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) - Multiple people were taken to area hospitals after investigators said a driver crashed their vehicle into a nursing home in Warrensville Heights on Friday morning. According to Warrensville Heights Fire, first responders were called to Avenue at Warrensville Care and Rehabilitation Center around 10:40 a.m. for reports of a vehicle crashing into the building and a person trapped. When they got there, firefighters found one person pinned under the vehicle. "Firefighters quickly initiated extrication operations and successfully removed the patient using hydraulic rescue tools," the fire department said. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, and according fire officials, she remains in stable condition. The driver, an employee at the facility, reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed through a window. The driver and a third person were also taken to the hospital. They both suffered minor injuries, Warrensville Heights Fire said. No residents of the nursing home were impacted, officials said. The East Tech Rescue Team was called to help stabilize the building.
