3 hospitalized after Salt Lake City crash, extrication
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Salt Lake City Saturday night, according to Salt Lake City Fire. At around 10:45 p.m. on March 21, authorities responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a sedan at the intersection of 700 East and 1700 South. Upon arrival, police found three individuals -- one of whom was trapped in their vehicle. Salt Lake City Fire's Heavy Rescue Team responded and conducted an extrication, cutting the vehicle and allowing the person to exit. That individual was hospitalized in serious condition, according to Chief Bob Silverthorne, Salt Lake City Fire. The other two individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. At least three fire engines and two police vehicles, as well as an ambulance, responded to the scene. The intersection was completely closed during the incident but has since been reopened. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. No further information is currently available.
