3 boys hospitalized after e-motorcycle crash in Napa County

(KRON) -- A 5-year-old boy was seriously injured Tuesday after the electric motorcycle he was riding crashed into a car on a residential street in Napa County, according to the California Highway Patrol. His passenger on the e-motorcycle, a 7-year-old boy, and another 7-year-old boy on a separate e-motorcycle were also injured in the incident. The three-vehicle collision occurred around 6:15 p.m. in Angwin at the intersection of Newton Way and Bay Street. The three boys were riding on Bay Street when they met a 2023 Chevy Malibu being driven on Newton Way. CHP said the intersection does not have any stop signs. Both e-motorcycles hit the right side of the Chevy. The 5-year-old boy was airlifted with major injuries to UC Davis Medical Center. One of the 7-year-old boys was also airlifted with minor injuries, and the other boy was transported by ambulance with minor injuries. Crash investigators are unsure at this time if all three boys were wearing helmets. Alcohol or drugs were ruled out as factors in the collision. The incident remains under investigation, CHP said.
