2 people died in a crash near Corsica Sunday night
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Two people have died in a single-vehicle crash in Douglas County Sunday night. A 52-year-old was driving eastbound on SD Highway 44, 6 miles southwest from Corsica, when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch. The vehicle hit a field approach, vaulted over a fence, then rolled, coming to rest in the field, according to a news release from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. The 52-year-old driver and a 72-year-old passenger died at the scene. Two other passengers were life-flighted to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Names aren't being released at this time, pending family notification, officials said.
