2 Nevada men die in fiery crash on U.S. 95 near Beatty
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Two Nevada men were identified following a deadly and fiery crash near Beatty along U.S. 95. The crash took place on Thursday, Feb. 26, around 2 a.m. The Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to the crash at U.S. 95 just north of mile marker 73 in Nye County. The preliminary investigation indicated that a flatbed tow truck was traveling north on U.S. 95 when the driver failed to drive on the right side of the road and crossed over into the southbound travel lane. A semi tractor-trailer was traveling south on U.S. 95, approaching the tow truck, and attempted evasive action by braking and swerving to the right to avoid collision, but was unsuccessful and was struck by the tow truck, according to the Nevada State Police. As a result of the crash, both vehicles caught fire.The driver of the tow truck, Donald Joseph Selters, a 40-year-old male from Tonopah, Nevada, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the semi tractor-trailer, Gregory Keith Glenn, a 67-year-old male from Las Vegas, Nevada, was pronounced deceased on scene. The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol - Major Incident Reconstruction Team. 2026 year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 14 fatal crashes resulting in 16 fatalities.
