2 killed in crash, vehicle fire on Ridgewood Road in Winston-Salem identified
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department has identified the two victims of a fatal crash that happened Monday morning. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, at 2:54 p.m., they were called to a single-vehicle crash on Ridgewood Road. At the scene, they found a 2016 Ford off the road and engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. Two men were found dead inside the vehicle: the driver, Francisco Mejia, 28, and the passenger, Daniel Ramos, 29. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Ford was traveling north on Ridgewood Road toward High Point Road when it, for unknown reasons, lost control while exiting the curve in the 3000 block of Ridgewood Road and left the roadway, striking a tree before coming to a rest and becoming engulfed in flames. No additional information regarding the crash is available.
