19-year-old driver injured in Bondurant crash has died
BONDURANT, Iowa -- One of the people injured in a crash involving a car and dump truck near Bondurant over the weekend has died. On Sunday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash located at the intersection of NE 56th Street and NE 94th Avenue. According to the PCSO, the driver of the car had to be extricated and then was transported to a local hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries. On Tuesday, the sheriff's office announced that the driver, identified as 19-year-old Samantha Moore, had died. Moore's passenger, an adult woman, was also transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. An update on her condition has not been released. The dump truck driver was not injured, and the sheriff's office said he remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, the sheriff's office said.
