11-year-old boy airlifted after ATV accident in Rockingham County
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is investigating after an 11-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital following an ATV accident on Monday evening. At around 5:07 p.m. on Monday, deputies came to a wooded area near the 1900 block of Price Grange Road in Stoneville. Investigators say that an ATV was pulling a trailer with two juveniles inside when a tree limb struck the 11-year-old boy who was riding in the trailer in the head. The force of the strike ejected the 11-year-old from the trailer. The boy was airlifted from the scene to a local hospital, and there is no further update on his condition available at this time. Sheriff Sam Page says the Rockingham County Department of Social Services and the District Attorney's Office have also been notified of the accident.
