1 seriously injured in plane crash at Saratoga County Airport

MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- One person has been taken to the hospital following a plane crash at the Saratoga County Airport in Milton, according to New York State Police. Two others were also reportedly injured in a nearby car crash that occurred around the same time. Troopers were reportedly dispatched to the scene of the plane crash at about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities told NEWS10 that the crash involved a single-engine plane and one person was seriously injured. At about 1:55 p.m., the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office was also dispatched to a car crash near the airport, at the intersection of Geyser and Greenfield Roads. According to a preliminary investigation, a Ford pickup truck had been traveling north on Greenfield Avenue when it hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee driving eastbound on Geyser Road. The sheriff's office said the truck was a Saratoga County Office of Emergency Services vehicle that was on its way to the scene of the plane crash. Both the driver of the truck and the driver of the Jeep were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. An investigation remains ongoing into both incidents.
