1 killed, 1 injured in Dutchess County car crash
AMENIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- One person is dead following a car crash in the town of Amenia on Monday, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. The incident reportedly occurred on South Amenia Road. Deputies were dispatched to the scene at about 4:50 p.m. An investigation reportedly determined that a Porsche was traveling eastbound on South Amenia Road near Benson Road when it lost control, entered the opposing lane and hit a Honda. The driver of the Porsche, identified as 54-year-old Scott Anderson of Amenia, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The driver of the Honda was reportedly taken to Vassar Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to the sheriff's office, the Porsche appeared to be traveling at unsafe speed at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed.
