1 killed, 1 injured after crash on High Point Road, Winston-Salem police say

A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in an overnight crash, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.Officers responded around 12:25 a.m. Sunday to the 3500 block of High Point Road, where they found a 2008 Hyundai with rollover damage that had crashed into a tree. Two injured people were found outside the vehicle. Police said the driver, Humberto Rodriguez, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been notified. A 35-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.Investigators said the vehicle lost control, left the road, hit a parked unoccupied vehicle, and then rolled over after striking a tree. Police said both Rodriguez and the passenger were ejected from the car.
