1 juvenile dead, 1 juvenile injured after San Jose e-bike crash

(KRON) -- San Jose police are investigating the city's seventh fatal traffic collision of the year after a male juvenile crashed an e-bike Thursday, killing himself and injuring his passenger. Police said officers responded at 1:08 p.m. to the area of Remington Way and Allenwood Drive for a report of a solo electric bicycle traffic collision. According to police, the investigation has revealed so far that "a Magnum Cosmo electric bicycle, operated by a juvenile male and ridden by a juvenile male passenger, was traveling northbound on Remington Way passing through the intersection with Allenwood Drive when it lost control and skidded to the ground." The operator suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at a nearby hospital, police said. The passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
