COLUMBUS, Ind. — One man has been airlifted following a motorcycle crash in Columbus Friday night. According to the Columbus Police Department, officers and first responders were called to the 3rd Street Bridge near West State Road 46 and State Road 11 for reports of a personal injury crash. Once first responders arrived, they found that a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2013 Toyota SUV had collided. The driver of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old man, suffered significant injuries to his legs and possible injuries to his head, prompting officers to render aid until medical personnel took over. He was transported by a helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. The driver of the SUV did not have any reported injuries. The crash remains under investigation and State Road 46 was closed for about an hour as the investigation took place.
