1 dead, several hurt in overnight crash at 51st and Wornall in Kansas City
One person has died and several others were hurt following a crash early Sunday morning. Kansas City police say the crash happened after 1 a.m. in the area of 51st Street and Wornall Road.A Toyota sedan was traveling east on 51st Street and did not stop at a red light, according to police. Police also said Ford Explorer was traveling north on Wornall at a high rate of speed. The SUV struck the Toyota in the intersection.Two adults and four juveniles were taken to area hospitals. The driver of the Toyota later died. It's unclear how many people were in each vehicle. Police say the driver of the Ford Explorer is under investigation for possibly driving under the influence.
