1 dead, 7 injured in Windsor multicar crash on Route 218, police say
WINDSOR — One person was killed and seven others injured in a crash on Route 218 on Wednesday, police say. In a release, Windsor police Capt. Andrew Power said officers responded to the intersection of Windsor Avenue and Route 218 at 2:32 p.m. for a report of a three-car accident. Power said arriving emergency personnel, including ambulance and fire department personnel, located three vehicles involved in the crash. He said one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, adding their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Seven other people involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals for treatment, Power said. The case remains under investigation, he said.
