1 dead, 4 seriously injured in head-on crash near Oakdale

(FOX40.COM) — A woman is dead in a head-on crash that injured four others near Oakdale. At about 2:56 p.m. Thursday, the California Highway Patrol received word of a crash on State Route 108/120 west of Kennedy Road. The driver of a 2013 gray Subaru sedan, a 48-year-old Oakdale woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Friday. The Subaru was traveling westbound on the state highway when it crashed into a 2019 Tesla sedan traveling eastbound on the same road. "For reasons unknown at this time, the driver of the Subaru crossed over the solid double yellow lines and directly into the path of the Tesla, resulting in a head-on collision," officials said. "All injured parties within the Tesla were transported to Oak Valley Medical Center with major injuries." The Tesla was driven by Allen Carey, a 28-year-old man from Ceres. The three passengers, who were also seriously injured, were 24-year-old Serenity Bloom from Manteca, 26-year-old Caleb Saenz from Modesto and 28-year-old Danielle Carey from Ceres. Everyone was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, CHP said. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
