1 dead, 2 injured in solo crash on I-280 in Los Altos Hills
(KRON) -- A passenger was killed in a solo vehicle crash Monday morning on Interstate 280 in Los Altos Hills, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. north of El Monte Road. According to CHP, the vehicle was being driven southbound on I-280 when “the vehicle traveled southbound in the center median and crashed head on into a tree.” A female passenger who was seated in the rear of the vehicle was pronounced deceased. Her identity was not immediately released. The survivors, the driver and a front passenger, were rushed to a local hospital with major injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
