1 dead, 2 hurt in head-on crash on Mill Creek Road in Carteret County
CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. — One person is dead and two others were injured after a head-on crash in Carteret County. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash happened Saturday evening on Mill Creek Road. Troopers say the driver of a Ford passenger car was traveling east on Mill Creek Road when the car crossed left of center. The Ford then hit a Toyota van head-on. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say the Ford came to rest in the eastbound lane of Mill Creek Road. The Toyota van came to rest partially off the roadway in the westbound lane. The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Carteret Health Care with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
