1 dead, 2 critically hurt in rollover crash near Boulder Highway, Russell Road
A deadly two-vehicle crash near Boulder Highway and Emerald Avenue near Russell Road prompted a major police investigation and road closures Friday morning in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported the crash as an accident with injury around 11:30 a.m. Police said two vehicles were involved, with one rolling over and the other catching fire. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police asked drivers to avoid the area as the investigation continued and said to expect road closures for the next several hours. All lanes of Boulder Highway after Russell Road are blocked, according to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. Motorists are urged to expect delays and use alternate routes.
