1 dead, 1 seriously injured after crash in Tolland

TOLLAND, Conn. (WTNH) — One person is dead, and another is seriously injured after a crash at the intersection of Old Stafford Road and Slater Road Wednesday afternoon, according to the Tolland Resident Troopers Office. State troopers were dispatched to the scene around 1:41 p.m., where they found a crash involving two cars. Arriving troopers found a man dead and a woman suffering from serious injuries. State police said the roadway remained closed for a short period of time and has since reopened. According to Tolland Town Manager Brian Foley, a utility pole was destroyed as a result of the crash. He said this may lead to intermittent outages in the area later in the evening. There is no immediate threat to the public, according to the resident troopers office. This is a developing story.
