1 dead, 1 injured in single-vehicle crash on I-270
ST. LOUIS - One person was killed and another was injured in a crash Monday morning on Interstate 270. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the crash occurred shortly after 5:40 a.m. on eastbound I-270 at Lilac Avenue. The crash involved a single vehicle that struck a median, a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) official said. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment. The condition of the passenger is unclear. All lanes are shutdown on eastbound I-270 at Lilac Avenue as crews investigate and work to clear the scene. Traffic is being diverted west of Lilac Avenue as the investigation continues.
