1 dead, 1 injured after pedestrians struck by vehicle in Brockton, Massachusetts, DA says
A woman died and a man was injured after they were struck by a vehicle in Brockton, Massachusetts, on Thursday morning, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.The incident happened at 6:40 a.m. on Livingston Road near the intersection of North Main Street.When officers arrived, they found a man and woman, both in their 40s, in the roadway. The woman was pronounced dead, and the man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The vehicle involved remained at the scene, police said. A white van with visible front-end damage was seen along the road, which was marked off by crime scene tape. "This is crazy, and it's very sad. It's very sad," one resident said. "It's very hard to actually walk down this way because the cars are trying to pass, and the people are trying to pass at the same time. So, I feel like we definitely need to reinforce signs, you know, for public safety."The victims' names have not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
