Wyoming County teenager dead after snowmobile accident
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A 17-year-old from Wyoming County is dead after he was ejected from a snowmobile that lost control Sunday afternoon, according to New York State Police. Police said that Steven Gregorie, 17, of Varysburg, was traveling south on a marked, private trail off of Wilder Road in Warsaw when his snowmobile lost control and struck a pile of logs. He was ejected. Police responded to the scene around 12:10 p.m. Another teenager was riding a snowmobile with Gregorie at the time. The 16-year-old friend of Gregorie also hit the log pile and was ejected. His snowmobile came to rest on top of Gregorie. Gregorie was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The status of the 16-year-old is unknown at this time.
