WRC Rally Japan: Adrien Fourmaux tears door off vehicle in unusual accident
Adrien Fourmaux had to withdraw from third place at Rally Japan after a challenging moment in wet conditions led to the Hyundai driver losing the passenger door from his car. Despite leading Hyundai's efforts in a tough rally for the team, Fourmaux's rally ended abruptly when mud on the road caused his car to veer off track, damaging the right side of the vehicle. While neither he nor his co-driver were injured, losing the passenger door meant losing their timecard, ultimately forcing them to end their rally. This unfortunate incident occurred just after Thierry Neuville's retirement due to technical issues. Meanwhile, Sébastien Ogier extended his lead over Elfyn Evans in the slippery conditions, with the rally still hanging in the balance.
