Woman seriously injured after crash in the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Pavilion Place in Newport News
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) -- A woman was seriously injured after a crash involving a pedestrian in the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Pavilion Place Saturday morning, according to the Newport News Police Department. At around 8:17 a.m. on June 27, the department received a call for service about an auto-pedestrian crash in the intersection. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a woman with possibly life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A preliminary investigation uncovered that the woman was hit as she attempted to cross Jefferson Avenue on foot. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
