Police: Driver dead after chain reaction crash on Route 3 in Nashua

State police say one person is dead after a three-car crash on the Everett Turnpike northbound in Nashua. Police say this happened just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 7. The investigation determined that 69-year-old Theresa Douville of Hooksett did not slow down for traffic stopped ahead of her and crashed into the back of the vehicle in front of her, driven by 35-year-old Gyna Santana of Lawrence, Massachusetts. That initial crash caused a chain reaction rear-end collision between Santana and another vehicle driven by 30-year-old Madison Berube of Hooksett. Troopers determined that Douville was not wearing a seatbelt. She suffered serious injuries, and while life-saving measures were attempted, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. State police say Santana, Berube and multiple child passengers were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Three lanes of northbound traffic were shut down for about an hour. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police.
