‘Serious’ crash reported by Knoxville Police, drivers asked to avoid area
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department responded to a "serious" crash Wednesday evening and asked drivers to avoid the area. Drivers were asked to avoid the area of Merchants Drive at Cedar Lane just after 9:30 p.m. while officers responded to the scene. A police spokesperson said that the area would likely be closed for several hours. Crash reconstructionists are on the scene conducting an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash.
