Woman left with life-threatening injuries after hit-and-run crash in central Bakersfield
A woman was critically injured after a hit-and-run crash in central Bakersfield early Friday morning. The Bakersfield Police Department said on Friday, June 19, 2026, at around 12:54 a.m., officers were called out to the 3600 block of California Avenue, near Real Road for a report of a hit-and-run crash with a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found a woman in the road suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital where she is listed in "unstable" condition. The driver involved had left the scene. An investigation found that the woman had been hit in the eastbound lanes of the road, outside of the crosswalk. There is no suspect information available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call BPD at (661) 327-7111.
