Woman killed in two-vehicle crash in Provo on Tuesday morning

PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Provo on Tuesday morning. According to a statement released by the Provo Police Department, they responded to a crash at 2230 North and University Avenue around 11:17 a.m. When they arrived, they found that two vehicles had collided inside the intersection. The drivers of both vehicles were evaluated by medical personnel on scene and one of them was transported to a local area hospital in stable condition. Unfortunately, a passenger of one of the vehicles, identified only as a 90-year-old female, was injured and died as a result of those injuries. PPD says all parties are cooperating with the investigation and their Traffic Accident Team is handling the investigation. At this time, police have not released any additional information, nor have they identified the deceased victim. "Out of respect for the victim's family and for others directly affected, the Provo Police Department will not be releasing any identifying information at this stage," their statement read.
