Woman killed in rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Newburgh

A Brewer woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Newburgh, according to Maine State Police.Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 174, just north of the Exit 174 on-ramp. A preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling northbound in the passing lane when it left the roadway and rolled over multiple times.The driver, identified as 58-year-old Darcel Geiser of Brewer, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.Geiser became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. She was pronounced dead at the scene.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
