Woman killed in hit-and-run crash in Hartford
HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman was killed in a hit-and run crash early Saturday morning in Hartford, police say. Police responded to a report of a serious car v.s. pedestrian crash in the area of Ledyard Street, south of Wawarme Avenue, around 3:50 a.m. Officers on scene found a woman in the roadway suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Police say the vehicle involved drove away after the crash and was heading southbound. The make and model of the vehicle are unknown at this time. Police identified the victim as 31-year-old Keyshia M. Ortiz-Benitez. The crash is being investigated by Hartford police. Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford police.
