Woman killed in head-on crash on U.S. 95 in Nye County
Nye County, Nev. -- One person is dead following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. 95 in Nye County, according to the Nevada State Police. The crash happened around 4:41 p.m. near mile marker 105 on U.S. 95, approximately 45 miles north of Beatty, officials said. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, the crash involved two sport utility vehicles. Police said an adult woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Authorities said there are currently no road closures in the area. Troopers and investigators remain on scene investigating the southbound shoulder of the highway. Motorists are being asked to slow down and use caution while traveling through the area. No additional information was immediately available Sunday night as the investigation remains ongoing.
